Boundaries separating the natural from the supernatural dissolve as ill-fated pledges, unfulfilled passions, and untimely deaths ensnare Jews in a Polish Shtetl in a tragic labyrinth of spiritual possession in this classic Yiddish feature film, ‘The Dybbuk’ (1937, 108 minutes), based on the celebrated play of the same name by S. Ansky.
‘The Dybbuk’ (2014) is a surprising re-editing version of this classic film from (1937, 20 minutes). New music has attached to this short revision - Bedřich Smetana’s ‘The Moldau' (1874). This poem contains Smetana's most famous tune which is also the basis for the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah.

הגבולות בין טבעי לעל-טבעי מתמוססים ונפרצים, עת תשוקות שלא באו אל סיפוקן ומוות שלא בעתו מסבכים יהודים בשטעטל פולני במבוך טרגי של דיבוק וגרוש דיבוק. כל זאת בסרט היידי הקלאסי (1937, 108 דקות) בבימויו של מיכל ואשינסקי, המבוסס על מחזה בשם זה מאת ש. אנסקי.
הדיבוק (2014) הוא עריכה מחודשת ומפתיעה של הסרט מ- 1937, בליווי מוסיקלי חדש – הפואמה 'מולדובה' של בדריך סמטנה, מתוך מחזור השירים הסמפוני 'מולדתי' (1874-1879). המוטיב המוסיקלי המרכזי בפואמה 'מולדובה' (12 דקות), הוא גם המוטיב המרכזי בהמנון הישראלי 'התקווה'.
